Sgt. Jill Stevens, Miss Utah

Sgt. Jill Stevens is a sergeant in the National Guard in Utah and is currently the reigning Miss Utah. She currently in the process of preparing to compete for the Miss America crown in January. At 24 she has achieved more than the average, including becoming a Sergeant, a registered nurse and strong marathon runner. She's also completed a tour of duty in the very hostile Afghanistan.

Her latest ambition is to bring Community emergency response team (CERT) training into each high school in America, of course starting with her hometown of Provo in Utah.

Zhang Zilin Wins Miss World Pageant

The Miss World Pageant has been won by 23 year old Zhang Zilin (Miss China) with Miss Angola and Miss Mexico as the next two runners-up. The Miss World Pageant this year was held at Sanya in China's Hainan province, with a clear theme in improving awareness of HIV and AIDS.

Zhang Zilin was a hot favorite to win, standing tall at 182 cm she went into the pageant declaring strong support from the 1.3 billion population of her country. As the tallest women in the competition a number of references were made to her height throughout the questioning.

Nelson Mandela's grandson Mandla Mandela introduced a short video from the former SA president about the theme of the pageant around the growth in the AIDS epidemic. This is particularly close to Nelson Mandela's heart as his sone Makgatho died of AIDS related complications back in 2005.

Conservative estimates suggest 2 billion people around the globe tuned into watch the 57th Pageant and Miss Zhang Zilin crowned the winner.

Jessica Sierra - Arrested Again

Yes she's done it again, American Idol finalist Jessica Sierra has found herself back in jail after yet another police incident. The 22 year old was arrested on Saturday 1st December for being intoxicated, violating her parole and resisting arrest.

Unfortunately this is not the first time Jessica Sierra has been in trouble with law. She has string of arrests for alcohol and drugs related offenses since her success on American Idol in 2005

This latest arrest is allegedly for hitting a male on his head with what is described by witnesses as a heavy glass. The arrest was made by Tampa police at 2.15am. She has been released on a $11,500 bond.
